Sidewalk office hours
District 5 Santa Clara County Supervisor Joe Simitian will hold Sidewalk Office Hours Sept. 11, noon-1 p.m., at the Cupertino Farmers’ Market at De Anza College. Community members can stop by to share their thoughts and concerns about local issues, ask questions, learn about county services and more. All questions are welcome, and no appointment is required.
Coastal Cleanup Day
In partnership with the Creeks Connection Action Group, the City of Cupertino is hosting a community creek cleanup on Saturday, September 17, 9 a.m.-noon at Saratoga Creek, 10486 Sterling Blvd. in Cupertino.
Volunteers and city staff will clean up areas surrounding Saratoga Creek. Gloves, trash grabbers and other tools will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to bring water to stay hydrated and dress for safety in closed-toe shoes, long sleeves, long pants and sunscreen.
Every participant needs to have a signed waiver to participate. Waivers will be sent to participants after registration to fill out in advance, but they will also be provided at the site. To participate, register at Eventbrite.com.
Virtual BMR workshop
Rise Housing will host the annual City of Cupertino’s Below Market Rate (BMR) Ownership and Rental Virtual Workshop on Monday, Sept. 19, 6-7 p.m.
Topics include an overview of Cupertino’s BMR Ownership and Rental Program, how to join the 2023 waitlist and program requirements, with time for a Q&A session.
