A man was found shot inside a car that crashed on Interstate 280 early Sunday morning – a wreck that authorities suspect may be tied to a shooting about a mile away in downtown San Jose.
The man was hospitalized for at least one gunshot wound after being found shortly after 1:30 a.m. in a wrecked white sedan on I-280, just north of Bird Avenue, according to the San Jose Police Department. His condition has not been released, though police said he is expected to survive.
Police suspect the car is the same vehicle seen fleeing a shooting near S. 1st Street and San Salvador Street in downtown San Jose, which is about a mile away.
No arrests have been announced in the shooting.
