A magnitude 3.5 earthquake was recorded Sunday afternoon near Mount Hamilton, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The quake, at 3:55 p.m., was centered near the southern edge of Joseph D. Grant County Park, about 5 miles east of San Jose’s Evergreen Valley College.

Reports to the USGS Did You Feel It website came from across the South Bay, the Santa Cruz area and as far north as Berkeley.

It was the strongest quake in Santa Clara County since a 3.6 east of Alum Rock Park in June 2021, USGS records show.
