The San Jose Police Department is investigating a traffic collision that killed a pedestrian Saturday night, police said on Twitter.
The fatality involved one vehicle and one pedestrian, and the collision took place at the 5800 block of Santa Teresa Boulevard. The pedestrian suffered major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The death marks the area’s 45th fatal traffic collision this year. The victim is also the 47th to die in a traffic collision and the 25th pedestrian fatality this year so far, according to police.
Police said the public should expect a road closure in the area as they investigate.
