SAN BRUNO — The remains of a woman who was reported missing three years ago were found earlier this week, near the grounds of the same condominium complex from which she disappeared, according to authorities.
It was not immediately clear how she died.
Lorie Esposito was 61 years old when she was last seen on Nov. 29, 2019, and lived at a residential community on Shelter Creek Lane nestled between Interstate 280 and Highway 35. Soon after, family members reported her missing to police.
San Bruno police were called at 11:49 a.m. Monday to the property after human remains were discovered near the condominium grounds. A resident told this news organization that the body was found in a bushy area by tree workers.
Friday, the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office, which is investigating the death, confirmed that the person was Esposito. When asked about the possible circumstances of her death, San Bruno police deferred comment to the coroner’s office, which has not released a cause of death.
