Tales of ‘Christmas Past’
Author Brian Earl will present his new book “Christmas Past: The Fascinating Stories Behind Our Favorite Holiday’s Traditions” on Saturday, Nov. 19, 5-7 p.m., at the Ainsley House, 300 Grant St. The event is part of the Ainsley House’s History Happy Hour series.

FunDrive for 4-H
The Santa Clara County 4-H Ambassadors and the 4-H County Council are gearing up for their annual FunDrive at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, 344 Tully Road, San Jose. Local 4-Hers will collect gently used clothing, household textiles and small household goods for those in need this holiday season. This year’s goal is to fill one semi-truck, the biggest collection goal to date for this event.
Collections will take place Saturday, Nov. 19, and Saturday, Dec. 3, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. both days at the fairgrounds. For more information about items eligible for donation, visit fundrive.savers.com.
Carol of Lights
Downtown Campbell is hosting the annual Carol of Lights celebration Dec. 3, 3-7 p.m. There won’t be snow this year, but there will be Santa visits, a petting zoo, donkey rides, bounce houses, craft tables, face painting, musical entertainment and a community stage with performances from local dance teams.
The Carol of Lights is an independently produced event organized by the Downtown Campbell Business Association and volunteers. The event is entirely funded by donations.
