SANTA ROSA – A cannabis delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint in Santa Rosa on Thursday after completing a delivery in Oakland, authorities said.
The driver was on Piner Place in Santa Rosa at around 4:40pm on Thursday when a black Audi sedan pulled up directly behind their van and lightly rear-ended it, according to police.
The driver stopped the van and was out checking it for damage when two males approached him – one appearing to hold a handgun, authorities said.
“The delivery driver realized he was being robbed and quickly ran away from the van. As he was running, he could see the two suspects enter his van and take items,” said police.
A sum of cash was also taken from the van.
The driver told police that they could see another two males in the Audi, which took off in the direction of Highway 101 following the robbery.
Santa Rosa police are investigating the incident and looking for anyone who has information to contact the department’s online tip line on www.srcity.org/CrimeTips.
A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered for any information leading to the arrest of the suspects by by the Sonoma County Alliance Community Engagement and Safety Rewards Fund.
