SAN FRANCISCO — The Warriors’ frontcourt depth took another hit this week.
The already-shorthanded Golden State will be without Jonathan Kuminga for Monday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks.
Kuminga was the latest addition to the team’s injury report, being added Sunday night with a right foot sprain. Details of how he suffered the injury or how long he’ll be out are still unclear.
Kuminga was averaging 9.6 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 15 games (two starts) this month as he’s emerged as a defensive force.
Kuminga joins a growing list of Warriors who will be inactive Monday as the Warriors try to extend their season-long win streak to five games. Andrew Wiggins, JaMychal Green, James Wiseman, Stephen Curry and Andre Iguodala will also be shelved against the Hawks.
Monday will be the 14th straight game Wiggins has missed since he suffered a groin injury earlier this month. Wiggins was on the mend last week before catching a non-COVID illness last week. Coach Steve Kerr previously said he anticipated Wiggins would need several practices to get his conditioning back to game speed.
Meanwhile, JaMychal Green, previously in the league’s health and safety protocols, remains out with a lower leg infection along with James Wiseman, who sprained his ankle playing 3-on-3 Friday morning.
Curry is expected to have his partial dislocated left shoulder re-assessed in the next week. And Iguodala has yet to play a game this season as he continues to prepare for the team’s second-half push to the playoffs.
With so many players out, the Warriors recalled Ryan Rollins from the G League Monday morning.
