Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon was accused of holding a woman at gunpoint and threatening to shoot her last month.

A warrant was issued Thursday for Mixon’s arrest.

Police said Mixon pulled a gun on the woman in downtown Cincinnati on Jan. 21 and told her, “You should be popped in the face. I should shoot you, the police [can’t] get me,” according to the warrant obtained by local ABC affiliate WCPO.

The incident occurred one day before the Bengals played the Buffalo Bills in the NFL playoffs. Cincinnati won that game but was eliminated last Sunday by the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC title game.

Mixon, 26, was charged with one count of aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor. His agent claimed the charge would be dropped Friday morning, according to NFL Network.

“It was a rush to judgment. They’re dropping the charges first thing in the morning,” agent Peter Schaffter told reporter Tom Pelissero.

In 2014, Mixon was caught on camera punching a woman in the face at a restaurant. The woman was a student at the University of Oklahoma at the time, as was Mixon.

Mixon made an Alford plea in the case, in which a defendant does not admit guilt but acknowledges there is sufficient evidence for a conviction. He received a deferred sentence and community service.
