Drive fulfills holiday wishes

Family Giving Tree recently concluded its Holiday Wish Drive, providing gifts for more than 56,000 Bay Area children, seniors and adults transitioning from homelessness.

“We surpassed our 2022 gift goal by over 10,000 gifts,” Jennifer Cullenbine, president and co-founder of the Milpitas-based nonprofit, said in a statement. “It looked a bit bleak in early December, but the community rallied.”

The need for Family Giving Tree’s services in the 14 Bay Area counties it serves has increased in the past three years due to the pandemic and the subsequent economic downturn. The average income for the two-parent households the nonprofit helps is about $4,500 a month.
