OAKLAND — Two men were shot Sunday afternoon near an East Oakland intersection and one was in critical condition, authorities said.
The shooting happened about 1:40 p.m. Sunday in the area of East 18th Street and Rosedale Avenue, a mainly residential area.
A 31-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the neck, authorities said. He was undergoing surgery later Sunday at a hospital and was listed in critical condition.
Another man was shot in the leg. He was in stable condition.
Police have not said if the men knew each other.
Police were trying to determine if the men were shot by someone in a passing vehicle or by someone on the street.A motive for the shooting is under investigation. No arrests have been announced.
