A fire ignited early Sunday morning at a house in Union City, displacing two people.
No one was injured in the blaze, which appeared to ignite shortly after 6 a.m. in the rear of a house on the 2400 block of Medallion Drive in Union City, according to Ryan Nishimoto, deputy chief of the Alameda County Fire Department. Slightly more than 20 firefighters worked for about a half-hour to extinguish the flames.
Two people were displaced after the blaze, Nishimoto said. The American Red Cross has been called to help them find shelter.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
