BRENTWOOD — Police are looking for two suspects wearing ski-masks who got into a shootout with a resident while attempting to break into a vehicle over the weekend, authorities said.
In a statement Tuesday afternoon, police said officers responded around 4 a.m. Sunday to the 2700 block of Serene court for a report of a shooting outside a home.
When officers arrived, they learned that suspects in a driveway had been trying to break into a victim’s vehicle when the victim confronted them.
One of the two suspects then fired at the victim, who was armed and fired at least three rounds back at them. The suspects then retreated to a blue BMW convertible with a black top and fled the area.
Police said the victim was not hurt, and believe the suspects were not struck, as a canvass of area hospitals did not yield people seeking treatment for gunshot wounds.
In a social-media post, police shared surveillance-camera footage of the BMW circling the court early Sunday, and asked anyone with information, including anonymous parties, to call police dispatchers at 925-809-7911.
