Through the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation, the Magic distributed grants totaling $1 million to 24 organizations during a ceremony Tuesday ahead of the team’s home game vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Osceola County Council on Aging and AdventHealth Foundation Central Florida received the largest grants at $100,000 and $55,000, respectively.
The 10 organizations that received the $50,000 grants were: Children’s Home Society of Florida, Education Foundation Osceola County, Foundation for Foster Children, Foundation for Orange County Public Schools, Hope Partnership, Howard Phillips Center for Children & Families, Junior Achievement of Central Florida, Page 15, University Central Florida Foundation and YMCA of Central Florida.

These organizations also were honored during the Magic’s game against the Cavaliers.
“On behalf of the entire DeVos family, we are so honored to be able to give back to this great Orlando community each year on this very important day,” Magic chairman Dan DeVos said in a statement. “The foundation of our family has always been one surrounded in community work.
“It’s something my parents have always done. They always taught us that everybody has something to give — time, talent, treasure, whatever it may be. That’s just part of what we do, and it’s our responsibility to help. I truly am honored to be able to share in the excitement today of all of these very deserving organizations.”
Tuesday marked the 15th time that at least $1 million has been distributed through the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation since its inception.
More than $27 million has been distributed to local nonprofit community organizations through the foundation over the last 32 years.
“All these folks are doing some incredible work,” Magic CEO Alex Martins said. “To be able to help them out a little bit with their mission through these funds and hopefully help them make a greater impact on our community, it’s incredibly gratifying.”
The DeVos Family Foundation also is donating $3 million to 30 area nonprofit organizations as part of the DeVos family’s 30 Grants for 30 Years initiative.
