Steph Curry is set to make another foray into the world of entertainment, this time as a co-star in a mockumentary-style comedy series.

The Warriors’ two-time MVP will apparently be playing himself in ‘Mr. Throwback’, which is in development at NBC, according to a report published Tuesday by Deadline’s Peter White. Comedian Adam Pally will play Curry’s counterpart, a sports memorabilia trader who happened to play alongside Curry on a childhood team.

Universal Television is partnering with Curry’s Unanimous Media on the project, after the two companies reportedly struck a deal in 2021.

‘Mr. Throwback’ comes from showrunner David Caspe, the creator of the ABC sitcom ‘Happy Endings’, and brothers Matthew Libman and Daniel Libman, who worked on that show as well as ‘The Mick’. Pally, who starred in an ensemble cast on ‘Happy Endings’, was also involved in the creation of this series.

Curry has made his way into the television space before, but this appears to be the first time he will be a major figure in a scripted show, after cameo appearances on ‘The Simpsons’ and ‘Ballers’. Unanimous Media, Curry’s production company, was involved in ABC’s mini-golf game show ‘Holey Moley’ and ‘About Last Night’, a celebrity couples game show that debuted last year on HBO Max.

No release date has been announced yet for the show, but
