Joint UCSC study provides insights into ancient Incan society

A recently published study, co-authored by a UC Santa Cruz professor, analyzing the 500 year old DNA of those buried near the iconic Incan citadel Machu Picchu shows that the residents there, forcefully relocated by the Incan empire, hailed from a more diverse area than scientists anticipated.
