SAN JOSE — A man was arrested in connection to the stabbing death of his mother in downtown San Jose on Friday, according to police.
Authorities received reports of a stabbing at a home on the 200 block of South 14th Street around 7:55 a.m. Friday. Upon arrival, police found a woman suffering from at least one stab wound.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
42-year-old Amanueal Germay, the son of the victim, was arrested on suspicion of homicide at the scene. He was later booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail.
No additional details were released.
The homicide was San Jose’s 18th of 2023. The Santa Clara County Office of the Medical Examiner-Coroner was unable to identify the victim as of Monday morning, pending notification of next of kin.
