Many students in the Campbell Union School District will have new principals when they go back to school Aug. 16, as well as part-time assistant principals at two of the district’s elementary schools. The latter will spend the other half of their time supporting programs for students with additional learning needs.

Blackford Elementary School principal Anne Ajlouni retired in June and is being replaced by Veronica Valencia, who has worked in the district for 16 years as a teacher and site administrator, most recently as assistant principal at Monroe Middle School.

Kami Thordarson retired as principal of Campbell School of Innovation. Xyzzy Godfrey, currently the principal of Village School, is stepping into Thordarson’s shoes. Godfrey, a 16-year district employee, has been a teacher and site administrator. She’ll be working with assistant principal Stephanie Day.

Lisa Wiseman, the new assistant principal at Capri Elementary School, has worked in the district for 15 years as a teacher.

Alicia Mommer is the new principal at Village Elementary, the district’s parent participation school. Mommer has administrative experience in both public schools and the nonprofit sector, as well as extensive experience as a classroom teacher at a parent participation school.

Patrick Sieler, current principal of Marshall Lane Elementary School, will be moving to Monroe Middle School, working as co-administrator with principal Ruth Stephens Radle. Sieler has extensive experience as a middle school teacher and administrator.

Marshall Lane’s new principal is Amy Vanderbosch, current assistant principal at Rolling Hills Middle School. She will be joined by new assistant principal Michelle Beddo.

The district has begun the hiring process for a new assistant principal at Rolling Hills.
