SAN JOSE — Two people were found dead Friday morning in an apartment on Parkmoor Avenue, authorities said.

Officers were called at 10:06 a.m. to the 1600 block of Parkmoor Avenue, the site of an apartment complex, after being asked to check on the welfare of someone who lived there, San Jose police wrote in a social media post.

The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office was summoned to examine the two people and decide a preliminary cause of death.

“This is an active investigation. The circumstances surrounding this incident are unknown,” police wrote.
