The Santa Clara County Fire Department is hosting free fire preparedness classes this fall for people who live or work in South Bay. An upcoming course will focus on how to behave in a medical emergency.

On Tuesday, Sept. 12, 11 a.m.-noon, instructors will go over how to identify medical emergencies and how to interact with emergency personnel like EMS and police dispatchers. The course will be held online. The department will hold the online class again on Oct. 19 and in person in Saratoga on Nov. 14.
