Nina Simon is the author of “Mother-Daughter Murder Night,” a mystery novel in which a real estate mogul diagnosed with cancer and her daughter and granddaughter work to solve a murder in the Elkhorn Slough. Simon will be at Bookshop Santa Cruz the night of the book’s publication, Sept. 5, along with her mother Sarina, the inspiration for the book’s main character, Lana Rubicon. The process, as well as their shared love of murder mysteries, became the basis for Simon's debut novel, "Mother-Daughter Murder Night."
