Livermore has a new food hall bringing such new — and irreverent — dining concepts as Pimp My Ramen, Murder Burger and Plucked.
Fat Chance Entertainment is the parent company behind Sauced BBQ, which has six locations across California, including its flagship in Livermore, plus Walnut Creek and San Jose. It also operates Plucked Chicken and Beer in San Ramon and Da Boccery in Livermore. The “Fat Chance” name stems from the founders’ realization that, when they started their first restaurant in 2012, they were taking a big chance, says Kristina Wulff, the company’s brand manager.
The new Fat Chance Food Hall offers “food for every mood” and every family member dining out, Wulff says.
The eatery, which opened at the end of September, offers menu items from three different restaurant concepts:
Pimp My Ramen: Among the options, you’ll find Big Baller Ramen ($16.50) with bulgogi beef, Asian slaw, kimchi, daikon and carrots, and a Pimpin’ ain’t Cheesy Ramen ($16.50) that marries the ramen concept with burgers, complete with American cheese, sriracha ketchup, crinkle fries and onion rings.
Murder Burger: The Smashville Burger ($15.50) is topped with ghost pepper cheese, Nashville hot onion rings and bacon, while the Butcher Burger ($15.50) features American cheese, bacon and barbecue sauce
Plucked: The food hall opened in the former Plucked Chicken & Beer space, so you can expect to see some old favorites, including a Nashville chicken sandwich ($16), served with jalapeño sweet heat slaw, and The Rooster ($16), topped with sharp cheddar, applewood bacon and an over-easy egg.
Be sure to check out the fries ($7), which come with nacho, buffalo blue and gochujang kimchi options, as well as desserts such as bomboloni ($4.50) and funnel cake fries ($5).
Details: Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily at 2062 First St. in Livermore; fatchancefoodhall.com.
