OAKLAND — A 23-year-old Antioch man was fatally shot Monday afternoon near the gas pumps at an East Oakland convenience store, authorities said.
His name has not yet been released pending the notification of his family.
The shooting happened about 3 p.m. Monday in the gas pump area of a convenience store in the 500 block of International Boulevard.
At least one person shot at the man before fleeing the area, authorities said.
Police did not say if the man was inside a vehicle or outside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities did not release any information on possible suspects in the shooting. A motive in the killing was still under investigation.
The killing is the 117th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 113 homicides in the city.
