MARTINEZ – An 18-year-old Oakley man is facing murder and firearm assault charges in connection with a house party shooting that left one teenager dead and three others injured in late October.

The Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday formally charged Sean Karp with one count of murder with an enhancement for intentionally discharging a firearm, as well as three counts of assault with a semi-automatic firearm with enhancements related to the use of a firearm and inflicting great bodily harm.

The charges stem from a shooting that happened Oct. 21 during a house party on the 400 block of Shannon Way in Oakley. Ke’Marion Tucker, 16, of Brentwood, was killed and three other teens – a 17-year-old girl, a 17-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy – were injured.

On Oct. 25, Oakley police arrested an 18-year-old Antioch man in connection with the shooting. However, he was released after two days in custody, with no charges filed.

Authorities later identified Karp as the suspect. He was arrested Thursday in Brentwood.

Karp is being held at the Martinez Detention Facility on $2.66 million bail. He will be arraigned on the murder and firearm assault charges on Dec. 6, prosecutors said.
