San Ramon Valley’s hot start to the season didn’t lead to another victory on Friday night. But it clearly showed that the Wolves are right there with the some of the best teams in Northern California.

SRV, ranked third by the Bay Area News Group, led 11-10 after the first quarter. The Stockton school went in front 29-27 at halftime and led 43-29 after three quarters.

“Tough loss to a Great team tonight,” SRV posted on X formerly Twitter. “Hung in there just couldn’t finish. Super proud of our group. We’ll respond.”

Sierra Chambers scored 18 points to lead SRV. Avery Knapp contributed nine points.
