WALNUT CREEK – Two people were arrested in connection with a robbery and pistol-whipping Tuesday evening in downtown Walnut Creek, according to police.
The robbery happened around 7:35 p.m. in the 1500 block of Bonanza Street, the Walnut Creek Police Department said in a news release. At the scene, officers found two victims who said they had been robbed by three male suspects armed with a handgun.
The suspects stole the wallet of one victim and pistol-whipped the second victim before taking their bag, according to police. The second victim was treated for minor injures at the scene.
The suspects escaped in a white Lexus, which was later found in Oakland, police said.
Detectives arrested two suspects and booked them in to the Martinez Detention Facility on charges of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit a crime.
