ATHLETES

First team

Tyson Bonilla, Wilcox, 6-0, 180, senior

First-team all-PAL Bay. Rushed for 1,495 yards and 15 touchdowns for CCS Division I runners-up.

Jaden Green, Serra, 5-9, 175, senior

WCAL utility player of the year. Had a rushing TD and returned a punt and an interception for TDs in a playoff victory over Salinas.

Jabari Mann, Serra, 6-0, 210, senior

Bay Area News Group San Mateo County and WCAL player of the year. Was a dominant force on defense and also was behind center in the Wildcat formation for NorCal’s No. 1 team.

Trevor Rogers, Acalanes, 6-3, 195, senior

Offensive MVP in DAL Foothill bound for Cal. Caught seven passes for 149 yards and two TDs in 35-23 victory over Birmingham-Lake Balboa in Division 3-AA state title game. Had four interceptions and made two field goals, too. 

Jaylen Thomas, Los Gatos, 6-0, 175, senior

Bay Area News Group player of the year and PAL Bay MVP. Did it all as a receiver, DB, punt and kickoff returner and punter. Accounted for 2,017 all-purpose yards and 17 TDs. 

Second team

Toa Faavae, De La Salle, 6-1, 185, junior

A sprinter on the track team, the QB ran for 911 and 17 touchdowns and passed for 906 yards and seven TDs as DLS won a NorCal title.

Andre Latimore, Del Mar, 5-8, 155, senior

BVAL West Valley Division MVP. Ran for 2,286 yards and 31 TDs and passed for 498 and seven TDs as Del Mar won the league title.

Jack Lewis, Branham, 6-1, 160, junior

Junior of the year in the BVAL Santa Teresa-Foothill. Passed for 2,696 yards and 32 TDs and 334 yards and 10 TDs.

Roman Mercado, Las Lomas, 5-10, 165, junior

First-team all-DAL Foothill. Caught 61 passes for 1,142 yards and 12 touchdowns and ran for 179 yards in 28 carries.

Sam Shelby, Piedmont, 6-0, 175, junior

Offensive player of the year in MVAL/WACC Shoreline. Had 63 receptions for 1,117 yards and 13 TDs and rushed for 403 yards and seven TDs in 33 attempts.
