For 20 years, Taco Bell has been the to-go place for Mountain Dew Baja Blast. But customers will have more options this year, according to PepsiCo, makers of the soft drink.
The beverage will be sold in bottles and cans throughout 2024 to mark its 20th anniversary, the New York-based company announced in a news release.
PepsiCo is marking the “Bajaversary” with a contest at bajablast.com and a “first-ever onscreen appearance” during Super Bowl LXII on Feb. 11.
Taco Bell introduced Baja Blast in 2004 and has mostly been the exclusive seller of the lime flavored drink since then, although there have been limited store releases in recent years.
Taco Bell has a long history with PepsiCo. Founder Glen Bell sold the chain to the beverage company in 1978, and it is currently owned by Yum! Brands, a spinoff company from PepsiCo that also owns The Habit Burger Grill, which shares its headquarters with Taco Bell in Irvine.
