Event will honor Black trailblazers in East Bay city

The Pan-African Flag flies below other flags at Antioch City Hall for the first time in the city's history. Antioch first develoed a flag policy in 2022 and approved the Pan-African Flag for display until Juneteenth of this year during a meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024. Created in 1921, the flag was created to response to racism, it was meant as a symbol to connect people of African descent across the world.

Honorees will recieve keys to the city at the event
