FREMONT — A shooting early Tuesday wounded a person, police said.

In an alert, Fremont police said the gunfire happened about 9:45 a.m. in the area of Stevenson Boulevard and Albrae Street. Officers found a victim there when they arrived, police said.

Police did not announce any arrests or say they had detained anyone but said in their statement that “based on preliminary investigation, this is an isolated incident and there are no threats to the public.”

“I understand people will have questions about what happened,” Sgt. Kim McDonald said via email. “Due to the ongoing investigation into this incident, we cannot offer any more information than we already have released. We will share additional details as more information becomes available.”

The victim went to a hospital by ambulance. Police did not specify the person’s condition.

Police sent out alerts early Tuesday advising people to avoid the area.
