LIVERMORE – Authorities on Thursday announced the arrests of two men on suspicion of kidnapping, carjacking and robbing a Livermore resident of a classic pickup truck.
One of the suspects, a 59-year-old Livermore resident, worked on the victim’s Chevrolet C10 in early December, the Livermore Police Department said in a news release.
On Jan. 3, the victim was kidnapped, carjacked and robbed by that suspect and a 46-year-old Livermore resident, according to police. In addition to the truck, the suspects allegedly took the victim’s cash, electric mountain bike and mechanic tools.
Detectives arrested the suspects on Feb. 29. Some of the victim’s belongings were recovered, including the Chevrolet C10, which was found in the Amador County city of Sutter Creek, police said. A trailer that was stolen in an unrelated case was also recovered.
On Monday, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged the suspects with carjacking, robbery, kidnapping, criminal threats and burglary, according to police.
