KENSINGTON – One person was injured in a home-invasion robbery Monday morning in Kensington, police said.

The robbery happened around 11 a.m., the Kensington Police Department said in a news release. Police did not disclose the address.

According to victim accounts and eyewitness reports, two suspects armed with handguns forced their way into the home, confronted the occupants and demanded their valuables, police said.

One of the occupants was assaulted during the robbery and later taken to an area hospital to be treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspects made off with wallets, phones and a safe, police said.

The victims and witnesses described the suspects as male and possibly in their 20s. The suspects were last seen wearing face coverings and dark-colored hooded sweatshirts.

The getaway vehicle was described as a white car, possibly a Kia, with a license plate that has been identified in both the Bay Area and Southern California, police said.

Police did not announce any arrests in the case Monday.

In the wake of the robbery, police urged residents to remain vigilant and report all suspicious activity.

“The psychological impact of such a traumatic event cannot be understated,” the police department said in the news release. “The experience undoubtedly shook the victims; however, the community will not be intimidated by this senseless act of violence.”

Anyone with information related to the case can contact the police department at 510-526-4141.
