Burger runs are becoming as much a part of the entertainment industry’s awards season as the red carpet, and Shake Shack is looking for a piece of the action.
The New York-based chain is launching a contest on how long it will take the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences to get through its annual awards ceremony on Sunday, March 10. It will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, and ABC will broadcast it beginning 4 p.m., with red carpet coverage beginning at 10 a.m.
If the show goes over or under 3 hours and 31 minutes, customers can win free food, according to a news release. To qualify, members must make a $10 order at an in-store kiosk, online or on the Shake Shack app and use the code BIGWINS between Monday, March 11 and March 18.
If the ceremony runs shorter, the prize is a free SmokeShack Burger If it runs longer, the prize is a Chicken Shack sandwich.
In addition, Shake Shack’s West Hollywood location, at 8520 Santa Monica Blvd., is offering free ShackBurgers to all nominees with proof of ID on March 10, the news release said. The restaurant will have a red carpet, bright lights and photo booth for all customers.
