MARTINEZ — A Concord man has been sentenced to 240 days in jail for possessing child pornography in 2021, a violation of state law and his sex offender conditions from a 2001 conviction, court records show.
Kenneth Farotte, 66, pleaded no contest to a child pornography possession charge and was sentenced to 240 days in jail and two years probation, court records show. The plea deal was finalized March 18, but the online minute order says Farotte doesn’t have to begin serving his sentence until later this month.
Farotte was charged with possessing nude photos of young children, allegedly found on one of his electronic devices in 2021. Police began looking at him after a tip from Google that suspicious material had been found saved on Farotte’s Gmail account, court records show.
In 2001, a year after he was arrested by Antioch police, Farotte was convicted of committing a lewd act on a child and a statuatory rape charge, court records show. He was required to register as a sex offender from that point on, authorities said.
