OAKLAND — A 17-year-old boy was shot numerous times and a man was also wounded in Sunday night shootings that happened a few blocks apart on International Boulevard in East Oakland, authorities said.

Both victims were in stable condition Monday.

Investigators were trying to determine if the shootings, which happened moments apart, were related.

Authorities said the 17-year-old, a Redwood City resident, was shot about 11:52 p.m. Sunday outside in the 7900 block of International Boulevard.  He was able to drive himself to a hospital. Police have not yet said why the youth was in Oakland.

About the same time, a 32-year-old Oakland man was wounded once in the 8100 block of International Boulevard as he was riding a bicycle. He got a ride to a hospital from a relative.

Police have not yet determined motives for the shootings or released any suspect information.

Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $5,000 in reward money in each shooting for information leading to the arrests of the suspects. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3436 or Crime Stoppers at 510-777-8572.
