May 27

Petty theft: Between 10 p.m. on May 21 and 8 a.m. on May 22, someone entered two unlocked vehicles parked in the driveway of a residence in the 18000 block of Swarthmore Drive and stole tennis equipment for a total loss valued at approximately $420.

Vandalism: Between 5 p.m. on May 24 and 1 p.m. on May 25, someone broke a gate at a residence in the 20000 block of Chateau Drive. The total amount of damage was estimated at approximately $500.

Vandalism: Between 4:53 p.m. on May 26 and 1:20 p.m. on May 27, someone used a permanent marker to deface a front door with offensive language at Saratoga Star Aquatics on Saratoga-Sunnyvale Road. The total amount of damage was estimated at approximately $25.

Identity theft: On May 27, a Saratoga resident reported that someone used their personal information to access their bank account and attempted to withdraw money but were unsuccessful.

May 28

Grand theft: Between 4:30 p.m. on May 24 and 8:02 a.m. on May 28, someone stole several rolls of copper from a construction site in the 18000 block of Cox Avenue for a total loss valued at approximately $11,000.

Grand theft: Between 9 a.m. on May 27 and 4 p.m. on May 28, someone stole two bicycles from the open garage of a residence in the 12000 block of Country Squire Lane for a total loss valued at approximately $1,082.

Check fraud: On May 28, a Saratoga resident reported that someone obtained a check deposited into an outgoing mailbox at the US Postal Office on Allendale Avenue and then altered and cashed the check for a loss of approximately $23,830.

May 29

Residential burglary: Between 9:39 p.m. and 10:01 p.m., someone entered a residence in the 15000 block of Sobey Road by breaking a glass door on a second floor balcony. Nothing was reported stolen.

May 30

Identity theft: On May 30, a Saratoga resident reported that someone used their personal information to access their bank account and made fraudulent withdrawals totaling approximately $1,095.

May 31

Animal cruelty: At 5:24 p.m., deputies responded to an animal cruelty call at Big Basin Way and Fifth Street. An investigation revealed the suspect left a dog inside a parked vehicle on a hot day for over an hour with no water or air conditioning. The suspect was cited and released.

June 1

Grand theft: At 3:15 p.m., three suspects entered the Deja and Co. jewelry store on Big Basin Way and stole two gold bracelets valued at approximately $30,000.

Throwing an object at a moving vehicle: At 8:03 p.m., someone threw something at a vehicle driving in the area of Saratoga-Los Gatos Road and Aloha Avenue. There was no damage to the windshield.
