A teacher at a Mountain View school was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of inappropriately touching a student, according to a news release by Mountain View police.

Ralph Turner, a 59-year-old man from Sunnyvale, was arrested around 1 p.m. after Mountain View police obtained a warrant for his arrest. He is suspected of annoying and molesting a child under 14 years old and false imprisonment.

The incident happened in April. A 12-year-old student at Graham Middle School reported that Turner had inappropriately touched her. The police interviewed the victim and other students who might have been victims or witnesses and obtained the arrest warrant.

Bay Area News Group reached out to administrators at Graham Middle School for a comment Wednesday evening, but did not immediately receive a response.

Mountain View police encouraged anyone who might have been a victim of inappropriate conduct by Turner or any other faculty or staff member to contact Detective Guillermo de Lira at guillermo.delira@mountainview.gov.
