Bay FC snapped a three-match losing streak on Friday night as Maddie Moreau and Dorian Bailey scored to lead the home team to a 2-1 victory over Club América at PayPal Park.
The win completed Bay FC’s three group-stage matches in the NWSL x Liga MXF Summer Cup and was the expansion team’s first over an international opponent.
Bay FC finished the Summer Cup 1-2.
With the score tied 1-1 on Friday, Bailey found the back of the net in the 53rd minute. Deyna Castellanos delivered a well-placed corner kick into the box that was headed by Jen Beattie toward the left post.
Bailey then finished to provide the winning margin before an announced crowd of 10,192.
Moreau scored from close range in the seventh minute to put Bay FC in front 1-0.
Club América evened the score 1-1 in the 29th minute when Scarlett Camberos scored from inside five yards off a cross from Sarah Luebbert.
Bay FC returns to NWSL play on Aug. 23 at Utah Royals FC.
