The San Jose Fire Department has extinguished a 3-alarm residential fire in San Jose’s East Dobern neighborhood but not without injuries and one home being rendered a “total loss.”
One juvenile was transported to the hospital with burn injuries after fire personnel responded to a call for service at 2:44 p.m. Saturday on the 2400 block of Clyda Drive. The blaze was subdued in a little more than an hour, officials said.
The fire also damaged a backyard shed and fence of an adjacent residence but spared the neighboring homes.
San Jose fire officials have not yet attributed a cause to the fire.
A fire pole was also damaged in the fire. PG&E estimated that 22 residences have been impacted while it attempts to restore power.
