Nearly 4,000 people have been evacuated from their homes due a fire raging through Lake County on Sunday.

Some 30 structures are being impacted by the blaze, which covered 75 acres and was 10 percent contained as late afternoon on Sunday according to Cal Fire.

Authorities also report that it began as vegetation fire in Clearlake near Dam Road and Boyles Avenue. Due to the location, the blaze has been dubbed the Boyles Fire.

Evacuation orders in Clearlake Evacuation were made for “inside of HWY 53 on the west, Dam Road on the south, Boyles Ave on the east & 32nd Ave on the north,” according to Cal Fire.

An evacuation map can be found here.

Cal Fire is assisting the Lake County Fire Protection District on this matter and has sent both air and ground resources to combat the flames.

The first was first reported via Cal Fire’s X account as being “approximately 3 acres, burning in heavy brush at a moderate rate of spread and structures threatened” at around 2:45 p.m. Sunday.
