Welcome to the Bay Area News Group (Mercury News & East Bay Times) boys Athlete of the Week poll.
For the entire academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out over the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.
This week, we consider performances from Oct. 28- Nov. 2.
Polls close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Vote as many times as you’d like until then without using bots or any other artificial methods of voting.
Votes by email and after 5 p.m. Wednesday are not counted.

Winners are announced each Friday online and in the print edition of the Mercury News and East Bay Times sports sections.
Candidates for future Athlete of the Week polls can be nominated at highschools@bayareanewsgroup.com.
We accept nominations until 11 a.m. each Monday.
We also review stats submitted to MaxPreps by coaches/team statisticians.
On to the nominees:
Terrence Barnes, Christopher football: The senior caught three passes for 58 yards and recorded two tackles in Christopher’s 32-7 win over Leigh. Christopher is 8-1, 5-0 and finishes its season at Live Oak on Friday.
Vidan Von Brzeski, Pioneer water polo: The captain of the Pioneer water polo team, Von Brzeski had an assist and a steal in the Mustangs’ 18-7 win over Willow Glen.
Caleb Entwisle, Prospect cross country: Entwisle crossed the finish line in 15:30 to win the 2.74-mile race in the BVAL Santa Teresa West Valley Division No. 4 meet.
Robert Mitchell III, Fremont-Oakland football: Ran back a game-winning 100-yard kick return to lead Fremont to a 23-16 win over Skyline. Finished with 200 all-purpose yards and a receiving score. The victory was Fremont’s first win of the season. The Tigers will finish the year by hosting Castlemont on Friday.
Carlton Perrilliat, Salesian football: Perrilliat caught a touchdown pass, returned a punt for a score and had a pick-six to lead Salesian to a 42-7 win against St. Mary’s-Berkeley at home. Salesian (8-1, 3-1) can clinch at least a share of the Tri-County Athletic League Rock Division title with a win at Pinole Valley on Friday.
Jack Rattary, College Park cross country: The senior took first place in the 3-mile run at the Diablo Athletic League Center Meet No. 2 with a time of 15:18.5.
Yair Sas, Berkeley water polo: The senior had four goals and a steal in a 16-7 win over Castro Valley. Berkeley won the West Alameda County Conference championship and finished the regular season 22-5, 7-0.
Andrew Tafoya, Mt. Pleasant football: Tafoya had a 70-yard touchdown reception and a 35-yard pick-six to lead Mt. Pleasant to a 36-0 win over Evergreen Valley. Mt. Pleasant is 4-5, 4-1 and finishes the regular season on Friday at Hill.
Curtis Tucker, Antioch football: Tucker had two crucial second-half rushing touchdowns and 163 yards on the ground in Antioch’s 15-13 win over Heritage. Antioch, which won its third straight game, will host Pittsburg in the Big Little Game on Friday.
Devin Wilson, Bishop O’Dowd football: The senior tossed four touchdown passes in the first half in O’Dowd’s 35-27 win over James Logan. O’Dowd has locked up the WACC Foothill Division title – the school’s first league crown since 2018.
Jordan Crockett V, Sequoia football: Crockett’s one-yard touchdown rush in overtime gave Sequoia a 13-7 win over San Mateo and helped the Ravens clinch a share of the Peninsula Athletic League’s Ocean Division title. Sequoia, which started the season losing its first four games, is now 5-4, 4-0. The Ravens host Carlmont on Friday.
