Severe burn victim airlifted after Toyota Prius fire in Contra Costa County

Emergency personnel transport a victim of a car fire at Clayton Community Park in Clayton, Calif., on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024. A driver of a Toyota Prius sustained third degree burns to 60% of his body after a vehicle fire on Marsh Creek Road in unincorporated Contra Costa County. The victim was transported by ambulance to Clayton Community Park where a Reach helicopter transported the victim to UC Davis Medical Center. (Jose Carlos Fajardo/Bay Area News Group)

Emergency personnel are still investigating the cause of the single-vehicle fire near Clayton.
