BYRON — Police here arrested a teacher’s instructional aide on suspicion of possessing child sexual abuse material, authorities said.
The suspect, identified by police as 25-year-old Dominic Vannucci, was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on two child pornography charges on Wednesday afternoon. His bail has been set at $200,000, jail records show.
Vannucci worked at a school district in Byron, in special education, authorities said.
The investigation started with a tip to the county’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, which raided Vannucci’s home and arrested him Wednesday morning, authorities said. Multiple electronic devices were seized.
County prosecutors have not yet reviewed the evidence against Vannucci and decided whether to file charges, but they’re expected to make that determination in the near future.
