Firefighters respond to San Jose restaurant fire

The San Jose Fire Department responded to a fire at a Bonchon Restaurant early Sunday morning.

The department said firefighters responded to reports of smoke on the 7000 block of Santa Teresa Blvd. around 4:05 a.m. Sunday. A second alarm was requested, and the fire was under control at 5:29 a.m., the department said.

The department said no injuries were reported and two other businesses in the building sustained smoke damage but no fire damage. The San Jose Fire Department said the Bonchon restaurant sustained heavy damage to the kitchen area where it is believed the fire originated.

The department said the cause of the fire is under investigation and any information can be provided to the San Jose Fire Department at 408-272-7766 to aid the investigation.
