Accidental drug overdose deaths, including those involving fentanyl, dropped for the second year in a row in Santa Cruz County. (AP Photo/Obed Lamy)According to data from the Santa Cruz County Sheriff Coroner's Office, the county experienced 57 accidental drug-related overdose deaths from January through November of this year. That's 20 fewer than the 2024 total of 77 and 76 fewer than the 133 individuals that died from accidental overdoses in 2023.
