MILLBRAE – A driver hit and killed a 90-year-old woman Monday in Millbrae, authorities said.
The collision happened shortly before 3 p.m. in the 500 block of Richmond Drive, near Taylor Middle School, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived to find the woman suffering from serious injuries.
The woman was taken to an area hospital, where she later died from her injuries, authorities said. She will be publicly named by the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office after her identity is confirmed and her next of kin is notified.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators, according to the sheriff’s office.
The cause of the collision is under investigation, but authorities said it does not appear alcohol or drugs played a role.
