OAKLAND — A 22-year-old man was fatally shot and another man wounded in two East Oakland shootings that happened within an hour Sunday night, authorities said.

Police do not believe the shootings are related.

The fatal shooting happened about 10:20 p.m. Sunday in the 8100 block of Olive Street, a primarily residential area.

Police responding to a ShotSpotter alert found the 22-year-old man, whose name has not yet been released,  shot inside a parked vehicle.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Numerous shell casings were recovered at the scene.

Police have not released a motive yet for the shooting.  No arrests have been made.

The other shooting was reported about 9:33 p.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of 76th Avenue, another primarily residential area.

A 26-year-old man and another person were sitting inside a parked vehicle when someone began shooting at them from outside, police said.

The man suffered a graze wound to the head.  The other person was not injured.  The man was taken to a hospital and was in stable condition.

A motive for the shooting is under investigation.  No arrests have been made.

The fatal shooting is the 84th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year.  The California Highway Patrol has also investigated four killings on Oakland freeways.  Last year at this time Oakland police had investigated 88 homicides in the city.
