UNION CITY – Detectives on Friday arrested a 22-year-old Union City man in connection with an attempted homicide.
Gunfire was reported just after 3 a.m. on Aug. 27 near Medallion Drive and Whipple Road, according to the Union City Police Department. Officers arrived to learn a 28-year-old man had been shot in a Quik Stop parking lot and taken to an area hospital.
Police described the victim’s injuries as not life-threatening.
On Friday, detectives arrested Anthony Estrada on suspicion of attempted homicide, according to police. A firearm was also allegedly recovered during their investigation.
The shooting was an isolated incident, police said in a statement, adding that “there are no additional known threats to the public.”
