Brian Doyle, the former Santa Clara city attorney, has filed suit against the city two years after his firing, saying that the Santa Clara City Council terminated him unlawfully and in retaliation for whistleblowing.
Doyle was critical of the San Francisco 49ers management of Levi’s Stadium, saying in his lawsuit that he worked “to hold the San Francisco 49ers to account.” He said that since his termination he has had difficulty finding work and that when hired as interim city attorney in Merced in June it was for less money than the $332,796 he was paid in 2021.
