Welcome to the Bay Area News Group (Mercury News & East Bay Times) girls Athlete of the Week poll.
For the entire academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out over the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.
This week, we consider performances from Jan. 29 to Feb. 2.
Polls close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Vote as many times as you’d like until then without using bots or any other artificial methods of voting.
Votes by email and after 5 p.m. Wednesday are not counted.

Winners are announced each Friday online and in the print edition of the Mercury News and East Bay Times sports sections.
Candidates for future Athlete of the Week polls can be nominated at highschools@bayareanewsgroup.com.
We accept nominations until 11 a.m. each Monday.
We also review stats submitted to MaxPreps by coaches/team statisticians.
On to the nominees:
Ryka Aprameyan, Evergreen Valley basketball: Aprameyan, a senior, scored 40 points in a victory over Sobrato. Aprameyan ended the week averaging 24.5 points-per-game and 4.6 steals per game.
Jewliette Bradley, James Lick basketball: Bradley, a freshman, made the biggest shot of the Comets’ season when she hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 10 seconds left in Lick’s 25-24 victory over Gunderson.
Ashley Childers, Los Gatos basketball: Childers, a junior, scored a career-high 31 points and added 14 rebounds in a 75-49 victory over Homestead on 1/31.This helped the Wildcats improve to 19-2 on the season.
Alex Facelo, Pinewood basketball: Facelo, a senior, made a school-record 12 3-pointers and scored 42 in win against Crystal Springs Uplands. She followed that up by making six triples in a victory over Salesian.
Brynn Faulkner, Heritage soccer: Faulkner had two goals and three assists in blowout victories against Deer Valley and Pittsburg. That gave Faulkner six goals on the season, according to stats inputted into MaxPreps.
Emilia Henriquez, Tennyson soccer: Henriquez, a senior, scored a goal in Tennyson’s 2-0 victory over San Lorenzo. She also scored a goal in the Lancer 1-1 tie with Mt. Eden.
Sa’o Loia, St. Francis wrestling: Loia, a senior, placed first in the 237lb division at the WCAL championships on Saturday at Sacred Heart Cathedral. She was one of five Lancer girls to win.
Estefany Ramirez, Pinole Valley soccer: Ramirez, a senior, scored a goal in Pinole Valley’s 2-1 victory against Richmond.
Amelia Schrag, Northgate basketball: Schrag, a senior, scored 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a victory over Campolindo. She also scored 29 points in a game against Mt. Diablo earlier in the week.
Sydney Slezak, Prospect soccer: Slezak, a junior, had three goals and one assist in a 5-1 victory against independence. That gave her nine goals and eight assist on the season.
McKenna Woliczko, Archbishop Mitty basketball: Woliczko, a sophomore, surpassed the 1,000-point milestone after she scored 36 points in a victory over Sacred Heart Cathedral. Woliczko is also a standout softball player.
